State Duma deputy from United Russia Igor Antropenko asked the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Anton Kotyakov to take into account the proposal to introduce continuous days off from May 1 to 9 when drawing up the production calendar for 2026. TASS reports this.

"I regularly receive requests from citizens who advocate for the continuity of holidays and days off in the period from May 1 to May 9. <…> I ask you to take into account the public demand for such continuity in the production calendar for 2026," the deputy specified in his letter.

Earlier, in an interview with TASS, Antropenko noted that working days between the May holidays do not allow people to fully rest. He added that some employees are forced to take time off on days between holidays, which creates tension for employers. The deputy also believes that long weekends will be useful for schoolchildren and students.

The head of the Ministry of Labor also previously spoke about holidays and non-working days in 2026.
