The upcoming New Year's holidays in Russia will be the longest in the past 12 years, the State Duma announced.
Russians will have 12 days off. They will only be required to return to work starting January 12, 2026, RIA Novosti reports.
"Since 2013, Russians have become accustomed to long weekends, but they typically lasted 10, or at most 11, days. Finally, in 2026, the holidays will extend until January 11th. Russians will return to work only on January 12th," the statement reads.
Before the New Year holidays, Russian citizens will have the shortest work week yet. After the weekend, they'll only have to work on Monday and Tuesday—December 29 and 30. And starting Wednesday, December 31, a mini-vacation will begin.
