Young people know where to seek happiness, good vibes, and… affordable prices in 2025. The latest Time Out ranking reveals the cities that have become true magnets for Generation Z.

Time Out magazine has once again published its annual ranking of the world's best cities. This time, with an added twist. The editors decided to investigate which metropolises are true paradises for Generation Z. Based on the responses of thousands of residents under the age of 30, they compiled a list of places where young people feel happiest, most fulfilled, and can't complain about high prices. The result? The capital of Thailand, Bangkok , took first place.

Bangkok - the capital of friendship and good vibrations

Bangkok is a city that fosters the daily lives of young people. A full 84% of those surveyed declared they felt happy. Bangkok residents particularly appreciate the ease of networking and the city's budget-friendliness. Add to this the vibrant nightlife, and we have one of the best in the world for the younger generation.

Melbourne - the Australian dream with an artistic heart

Melbourne came in second place, boasting culture and art above all. Ninety-six percent of young residents agreed that the cultural scene is one of the city's greatest strengths. From atmospheric cafes and galleries to music and film festivals, Melbourne seems to meet all the criteria for "the place you want to be."

Cape Town - joy in the rhythm of Africa

Cape Town rounds out the podium with its spectacular mountain and ocean scenery. Cape Town residents appreciate both the beauty of their surroundings and the access to affordable entertainment. Time Out called Cape Town "exciting."
