Amex Travel Posts Record Bookings as Chase Rivalry Heats Up

American Express Travel, the card company's luxury-oriented leisure travel portal, posted "record high bookings" in the third quarter as travel rebounded.
CEO Stephen Squeri said during a call with analysts Friday that cardmember spending overall —beyond trip bookings on the travel site — jumped of 9% year-over-year because of "strong retail spending and a bounce back in travel."
