The freezing cold weather that continues to affect Kastamonu has covered dams and ponds with ice. Following the snowfall that has continued intermittently for the last 15 days, the air temperature has dropped to 24 degrees below zero.

The Kulaksızlar Dam Lake, established for drinking water and irrigation in the Devrekani district of Kastamonu with a water capacity of 18 million 720 thousand cubic meters, also completely froze. The dam, whose surface was covered with ice, was covered in white with the falling snow. The fish ponds and boats in the dam, where cage fishing is done, were stuck between approximately 20 centimeters of ice.

Emine Uzun, the head of Kınık village in Devrekani district, stated that despite the cold, very beautiful views emerged and said, "Our region has been snowed for 15 days. We saw 23 degrees below zero. It is cold, we are freezing, we are freezing, but Kınık Dam and Kulaksızlar Dam are truly one of the most beautiful places to visit and see. We are waiting for everyone to come to our village to see the beauties of our dams this winter. The top of the dam is currently frozen and snow has fallen on it. The water level will begin to rise

Caner Seçme, a farmer in Kınık village in Devrekani, said, "Snow fell in our district with the cooling of the weather. The temperature dropped to 23 degrees below zero. Our dam also froze. Our roads were closed due to the snowfall. Our water in our house also froze due to the cold weather. Our region is hot in the summer but it is also quite cold in the winter. This year, it froze because it snowed a little too much and the weather got cold. This year, the summer was a bit dry. The water level in the dam had decreased. The water level will start to rise with the snowfall. We will continue to irrigate our fields when the summer season comes. Hopefully, we will not have a drinking water problem this year."
