Türkiye's longest and widest single tunnel! Amanos Mountains will be crossed with ease

Hatay , located in the southernmost province of Turkey and the province that suffered the most devastating disaster of the century, is beginning to erase the scars of the earthquake through restoration and construction efforts. The Amanus Mountains, located in Hatay, a trade hub between Turkey and Syria, have long been a nightmare for drivers.
Construction of the Belen-Topboğazı Highway Tunnel, one of the largest investments made with the national budget, began on April 15, 2024, and the project was planned to traverse the challenging Amanos Mountains with an 8,005-kilometer-long, 17-meter-wide tunnel. Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatlı inspected the tunnel, which is the longest and widest single tunnel in Türkiye, and made a statement.
"With its length of 8,005 kilometers and width of 17 meters, it is the longest and widest tunnel in Türkiye."
Governor Masatlı said in a statement, "As part of the world's largest rehabilitation operation, we have initiated many mega projects in Hatay under the leadership of our President. One of these is the Belen Tunnel project, which the public is closely following. At 8,05 kilometers long and 17 meters wide, this project, the longest and widest single tunnel in Turkey, is one of the largest investments made from the national budget."
