Australian actor Julian McMahon dies

McMahon, who played Doctor Victor Von Doom in the "Fantastic Four" movies, has died, according to CNN.

McMahon's wife said in a statement that the Australian actor "passed away peacefully this week after a courageous effort to beat cancer."

McMahon, 56, starred opposite Dylan Walsh in "Nip/Tuck," about the lives of two plastic surgeons. The series ran for six seasons from 2003 to 2010 and was nominated for 18 Primetime Emmys, winning for best prosthetic makeup.

The Australian-American actor also recently starred in "FBI: Most Wanted" and Netflix's "The Residence."

McMahon, whose acting career began in the late 1980s, also appeared in the new Nicolas Cage movie "The Surfer," which was released on May 2.

WHO IS JULIAN MCMAHON?

Born on July 27, 1968 in Sydney, Australia, Julian McMahon began his career in the early 1990s on the Australian soap opera "Home and Away".

The famous name, who entered the cinema with the movie Wet and Wild Summer! in 1992, appeared in TV series such as Profiler and Charmed.

McMahon, who came to fame with his role as Dr. Christian Troy in the TV series Nip/Tuck, which aired between 2003 and 2010, received a Golden Globe Award nomination for this role.

In his film career, he became widely known with his role as Doctor Doom in the films Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

The famous actor, who played the lead role in the series FBI: Most Wanted, appeared before his fans in the latest series The Residence.
