The streets of Istanbul were painted pink

Bagdat Avenue , one of Istanbul's major thoroughfares, and the coastal road were painted pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event, which began on Bagdat Avenue and ended at the Watergarden, concluded with drivers releasing pink balloons.
Seral Çelik, President of the PI Women's Cancer Association, stated that more than 2.3 million women worldwide are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, saying, "In our country, this number is 25,000. Its incidence is steadily increasing, and the incidence is rising in younger women. Awareness is the greatest strength against breast cancer. This increases the rate of early diagnosis, and early diagnosis saves lives! We want to draw public attention to breast cancer through awareness campaigns and thus increase the rate of early diagnosis."
General Surgery Specialist Dr. Gülden Cancan emphasized the importance of awareness about breast cancer, a common condition, saying, "When women have breast cancer screening tests regularly, the rate of early diagnosis increases."
