He entered the morgue with a broken knee and left! Allegations that the nurse killed a patient who spat with an injection

Three years ago, 27-year-old Abdurrezzak Baysal suffered a knee injury in a traffic accident in Gaziantep. Baysal, who was receiving treatment at a private hospital and was in good condition, died under suspicious circumstances in the intensive care unit. The family filed a criminal complaint, and an investigation revealed that a nurse at the hospital had injected Baysal with a muscle relaxant belonging to another patient without a doctor's order.

An autopsy was requested following the suspicious death. A report from the Forensic Medicine Institute clearly revealed that Baysal's death was caused by the drug injected into her. A lawsuit was filed against the nurses on duty, Aslı Ersoy and Mustafa Çelik.

The patient caregiver told what she saw

According to Sabah newspaper, nurse Semihat Ö., who testified at yesterday's hearing at the Gaziantep 3rd High Criminal Court, testified, "When we entered the intensive care unit, there was an argument between Nurse Aslı and the victim. When the victim spat on Nurse Aslı, the nurse got angry and covered the patient's mouth with a blanket. Nurse Aslı said, 'I know what to do to you now.' She then took two cc of another patient's intubation medication and said, 'Mustafa, do this to Baysal.' Approximately five or six minutes after the medication was administered, the patient became ill. Nurse Aslı and Mustafa intervened for 45 minutes. They kept talking about the patient saying, 'He's dead.'"

The court adjourned the case until December 3 for the report to be received stating that the death was due to injection.

Abdurrezzak Baysal's sister, İpek Baysal, said, "My brother was in a car accident. He only had a broken knee; otherwise, he was healthy. He was in intensive care for 10 days and then transferred to a regular ward. Everything was fine. That night, at 4:00 a.m., the hospital called and said, 'Your brother had a heart attack and passed away.' We were shocked; we couldn't believe it. We were going to bring him home in the morning, but they gave us his coffin. We want justice."
