Is the young man who attacked the actor in A Barraca a refugee?

Several posts are circulating on the social media platforms Facebook and Instagram claiming that the young man who attacked actor Adérito Lopes outside the A Barraca theatre, in the Santos area of Lisbon, is a refugee from Nepal. “Young man who attacked the actor from Barraca identified. He is in Nepal. He has nothing to do with the far right. Journalism”, reads one of the posts.
It all happened on June 10, when Adérito Lopes was arriving at the A Barraca theater, where the play “Amor é um fogo que arde sem se ver” (Love is a fire that burns without being seen) was being shown, in homage to the writer Luís Vaz de Camões. The PSP reported that it was called to Largo de Santos at around 8:15 pm “due to reports of aggression”. According to the director of the A Barraca theater, Maria do Céu Guerra, a group of neo-Nazis was near the theater and began to provoke the actors who were arriving. They allegedly approached an actress who was wearing a t-shirt with a red star and also provoked another actress, Teresa Mello Sampayo.
Adérito Lopes was later punched and suffered a cut on his face, having been taken to the emergency room at Santa Maria Hospital. That same day, the PSP identified the perpetrator of the violent attack, a 20-year-old man.
Three days later, the actor who confessed to the attack gave an interview to CNN in which he said that he had gone out on the night of the 9th, and that he continued his excesses throughout the following day. He claimed that he had heard about the event organized by a group of neo-Nazis in the restaurant next to the theater “through a friend” and that it was for this reason that he went to the vicinity of the theater.
In the interview, he said he was not part of any neo-Nazi group: “I refuse, I deny, I am not part of anything far-right,” he assured. “I was an immigrant in Africa, I lived in Mozambique for a year. I have a family and everything that needs to happen. I do not identify with that ideology and I went there with the intention of drinking.” The young man, who did not want to be identified, said that his family is Portuguese and that he had only lived outside of Portugal for a year — in Mozambique. During the interview, no reference was made to Nepal. The Portuguese used did not have any accent.
Conclusion
The young man who attacked actor Adérito Lopes is Portuguese, as he himself confirmed in an interview with CNN. There is no reference to Nepal.
