Revolutionary airline service: No need to bring clothes

Japan Airlines offers its customers its "Any Wear, Anywhere" service, which allows them to rent clothing anywhere in the world. This means that passengers don't have to bring any clothes on board or into the hold other than what they're already wearing. This project aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by reducing the weight carried by aircraft.
Travel without any luggageSome tourists even pack a free personal item as carry-on luggage for a week-long trip. There are many videos online showing how to pack a small backpack, fitting as much clothing as possible. But what if you didn't bring any luggage at all?
Some travelers, for example, choose to buy clothes locally, especially in cities or countries known for their shopping sprees. There's another alternative, which the project's authors believe is also the most environmentally friendly: clothing rental, which was once promoted by Japan Airlines.
Renting clothes while travelingThe "Any Wear, Anywhere" service involves reserving a set of clothes to be waiting for you at your hotel upon arrival. After your stay, the clothes are returned, washed, and re-entered into the system for other travelers. Customers can choose from a variety of sizes and styles of clothing suitable for all seasons. "When we travel abroad, there are hotels and restaurants that offer accommodation and meals, but not clothes. Why do we have to bring clothes from home?" wonders project manager Miho Moriya. She emphasizes that the goal is to reduce the carbon footprint, which could be lower if planes carried less cargo.
