Poles love to relax there. Now the resorts are on fire.

Although this summer didn't start well in Poland, many other European countries have been enjoying abundant sunshine for several months. This has its advantages and disadvantages, as drought conditions are conducive to wildfires. Countries like Italy, Croatia, and France are all grappling with extreme heat. Now, sad news is coming from Spain about Greece. The worst is happening in specific regions. Fires are ravaging beloved places.
Fires in Spain and evacuationsSpain is a holiday paradise beloved by Poles and tourists from around the world. Things aren't always peaceful and safe right now. Wildfires are disrupting life in regions such as Castile, León, and Galicia. The worst affected region is Castile, León, and Galicia. A total of 40 towns have been evacuated, with up to 10,000 people forced to leave their homes. The fire in Galicia has consumed 11,500 hectares. Regions such as Andalusia, Extremadura, Valencia, and the Madrid area are also experiencing problems.
The consequences of this situation are dire and negatively impacting tourism. Last Wednesday, August 13th, trains connecting Galicia with Madrid were unable to depart, and some were halted en route. Residents are urged to exercise caution. Two deaths and several injuries have been reported so far. Temperatures in Spain are currently reaching temperatures of up to 44°C.
The situation in Greece isn't much better. Reports of fires are reported on the island of Zakynthos, a well-known Polish island. The blaze broke out on August 13th in the southwest of the island and quickly spread. Firefighters are on site to manage the situation. Local authorities have evacuated residents and tourists from hotels closest to the threat. Agalas, Koliomenos, and Pantokratoras are expected to be the worst hit.
Should tourists planning a vacation there cancel their trip? It's important to check whether the situation is specific to your destination. It may turn out that the town is located far from the source of the fires, in which case there's nothing to worry about. Many hotels and beaches are located outside the southwestern part of Zakynthos. Laganas and Kalamaki, Tsilivi, Planos, Tragaki, Alikanas, and Alykes are among the safest. No flight problems have been reported either.
