Crystal clear lake in Mazovia. You can relax here for free

Water reservoirs located far from the big city arouse great interest among Poles. For example, living in Warsaw, we look for something in a green shelter, to escape from noisy cars and well-known streets. This is possible during a holiday at Lake Kozienickie. It can boldly compete with, among others, the Mazovian bathing area Kąck or the popular Zegrze.

Lake Kozienickie is perfect for a vacation

Lake Kozienickie is located in Kozienice, a city in the Masovian Voivodeship situated on the left tributary of the Vistula – the Zagożdżonka River, on the Central Masovian Lowland. Every year during the holiday season it attracts tourists from nearby towns, especially because there you can count on crystal clear water, conditions suitable for sunbathing and swimming.

The lake is divided into two parts: a larger one for adults (at its deepest point the water is 6 meters deep) and a smaller one for families with children. This means that even people who can't swim will feel comfortable there.

There are many sunny weekends ahead of us, which are worth taking advantage of for a trip to this lake. It is a good option not only for lovers of sunbathing, but also fans of water sports and outdoor activities. You can easily rent water bikes, kayaks and many others there. Anglers will also find their oasis of peace. In addition, near the aforementioned area we will find an amphitheater, camping site, bar and restaurant. In the city itself, it is worth visiting the Regional Museum.

It is also worth adding that the lake is quite interesting – crescent-shaped. It also has an interesting history, because in reality it is an oxbow lake of the Vistula. In 2008, the lake was connected to Lake Opatkowice by a ditch from the north-west. In addition, it is periodically connected to the Zagożdżonka River by a small ditch.

Easy access from Warsaw

The beautiful lake in Kozienice can be reached by car from Warsaw in about 1.5 hours. It will be 95 km to cover. It is not the closest bathing area in the vicinity of the capital, but it is definitely worth a visit. You can even make a trip for the whole weekend and plan an overnight stay.

The swimming pool is located at ul. Bohaterów Studzianek 30 and is open from 10:00 to 18:00. Most importantly, there is no entry fee. The season lasts until August 31.
