How to Read Up on the <i>Ransom Canyon</i> Book Universe

The newest book in the Ransom Canyon universe follows young Staten’s origin story. When he hears his grandfather has fallen ill, Staten drops out of Texas Tech to run the Double K ranch. We also meet Charlotte Lane, a college professor who decides to become a high school teacher in the town adjacent to Ransom Canyon, and Peggy Warner, a 27-year-old who’s stuck at home with ailing parents and is desperate for change.

Three new characters’ lives are explored in Lone Heart Pass. Jubilee Hamilton is looking for a fresh start after her career and relationship blow up, and all she has left is a Texas farm she’s inherited. We return to Yancy Grey, who we learn had a brief stint in jail for petty theft. In his quest to become more than an ex-convict, he rebuilds an old house and finds a mysterious woman named Tori hiding out there. We also meet Parker Lacy, a gallery owner who meets a strong, silent cowboy as she enters Crossroads, and Gabe Snow, who returns to his hometown after a long time away.

The spotlight moves to Dan Brigman, Lauren’s father and the local sheriff. He finds a lone sparkly cowboy boot on the highway and sets out to find his owner.
