Film director Gonzalo Suárez, Honorary Goya

Gonzalo Suárez (Oviedo, 1934), director, screenwriter, producer, writer, and actor, will receive the Honorary Goya Award in Barcelona, the city where he made his first films, according to the Film Academy.
The Academy unanimously recognized "a career that has seen him develop a surprising filmography, in which he has experimented with all genres and from all perspectives, and which has contributed to making him a key figure in Spanish culture over the last sixty years."
Suárez received the Goya for Best Director for Remando al viento in 1989, one of his many works such as Ditirambo, The Strange Case of Doctor Fausto, La Regenta, Morbo, Parranda , the legendary Epilogue, The Anonymous Queen, The Detective and Death, My Name is Shadow, Oviedo Express and Malinche's Dream.
