Questions about Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise’s relationship status have circulated for months, but it appears the two stars, who are working together on an upcoming thriller called Deeper, may have developed a romance offscreen. TMZ published photos of the pair holding hands during a weekend in Woodstock, Vermont. Notably, De Armas owns a $7 million house in the state.

De Armas, 37, and Cruise, 63, were seen at Oasis’s Wembley Stadium concert in London on Saturday, then traveled to Vermont, according to TMZ. The outlet reported their activities included visiting a national park, having ice cream, and shopping. Photos of them holding hands were taken on Sunday.

It’s likely de Armas and Cruise’s relationship change is very recent. On July 18, People reported that de Armas was single after ending her relationship with Manuel Anido Cuesta, who is Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez’s stepson.

While Cruise and de Armas are working together, it appears they’ve been spending time off set for months. On May 10, a source told Page Six that the two actors attended David Beckham’s 50th birthday party together “and [were] clearly enjoy hanging out.” That said, the source added, “I’ve no proof it’s romantic.”

Four days later, a source told Us Weekly that the two actually are more than friends and costars. “It’s low-key, still new, and in the early stages,” the source said. “Their romance is definitely on the down low.”

Initially, their connection was just work-oriented, the source said, but the “relationship developed.” Cruise became “super smitten [with her, and it] developed into feelings. They’ve gone out on some dates, and it’s very low-key. It’s in the early stages, and he’s been courting her.”

De Armas has been a little resistant, with the source describing her as “cautious”: “She isn’t looking for anything to move too fast, she’s taking it really slow.”
