The weekend exhibitions, from Pablo Picasso to Marzia Migliora

(by Marzia Apice) Landscape research by Marzia Migliora, the dialogue between ancient and contemporary starting from the parchments of the Albertini Collection, the reflection on the color of Antonello Viola and then the art of origins of Picasso: these are some of the exhibitions of this week. BORGO VALSUGANA (TRENTO) - It is entitled "Fight for "existence" the personal exhibition of Marzia Migliora presented by Arte Saddle set up from June 21st between Villa Strobele and Malga Costa. Curated by Lorenzo Fusi, the itinerary is composed of three groups of works created in dialogue with the landscape of the Val di Sella: the artist interprets the interconnection between natural species with works that lead to an ironic, dreamy dimension and disturbing. AOSTA - At the Regional Archaeological Museum of Aosta from 21 June to October 19 the exhibition "The other Picasso. Return to the origins", edited by Helena Alonso, J. Óscar Carrascosa and Daria Jorioz. Exploring the profound influence of the origins and family traditions about the work of Pablo Ruiz Picasso (Malaga, Spain, 1881 - Mougins, France, 1973), as well as the legacy of the classical cultures, particularly Phoenician, Roman and Arab, the exhibition presents works of different materials and style, from engravings to ceramics, passing through the scenography created for the ballet The Three-Cornered Hat. PERUGIA - It is entitled "Extra. Ancient Signs/Visions contemporary" the project set up from 17 June to 6 January from the Perugia Foundation to Palazzo Baldeschi. Edited by Marco Tonelli, the exhibition was born with the dual objective of enhancing and to publicise on the one hand the recent acquisition of approximately 1700 parchments from the Albertini Collection and at the same time show their continuous vitality in dialogue with 18 contemporary artists among including Alighiero Boetti, Emilio Isgrò, Maria Lai, David Tremlett, Gianni Dessì and many others, creating new combinations and unexpected. REGGIO EMILIA - At the Galleria de' Bonis from June 19th to 31st July the exhibition "Journey to Italy", an itinerary through landscapes iconic and artistic experiments that have shaped the cultural identity of the country. In the itinerary selected works by Giacomo Balla, Carlo Carrà, Filippo de Pisis, Piero Gilardi, Renato Guttuso, Antonio Ligabue, Fausto Melotti, Mario Schifano, Mario Sironi and others. BOLOGNA - Sphinxes, wild beasts, anthropomorphic figures, ancient goddesses and birds make up the dreamlike universe of Marta Roberti, protagonist with his exhibition "Jungle at the Palace" scheduled at Palazzo Boncompagni in Bologna from 19 June to 28 July. curated by Silvia Evangelisti, the exhibition celebrates the poetics visionary of one of the most original voices on the scene contemporary, relating his works with the architecture and decorations of the palace. PADUA - The Peruzzo Foundation from June 19th to October 5th hosts the exhibition in its headquarters in the former church of Sant'Agnese "Damnatio figurae. From the negation of the image to the portrait", a curated by the director of the Foundation, Marco Trevisan. Exploring the theme of identity and its perception, of absence and of the presence of the image and its evocative power, the exhibition sees a dialogue between a selection of works by Peruzzo Collection - including works by Donald Baechler, Felice Casorati, Sandro Chia, Max Ernst, Jannis Kounellis, Zoran Music, Mimmo Paladino, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselman - with works in loan from Thorsten Brinkmann, Maurizio Cattelan, Aron Demetz, Nicola Samorì and Mariano Sardón. VENICE - Colour as matter and energy, which vibrates in a another space-time, inviting silence and contemplation: it is the exhibition "The gold of the lagoon" by Antonello Viola, set up at the International Gallery of Modern Art Ca' Pesaro from 20 June to September 28. Curated by Elisabetta Barisoni, the project, specifically designed for the rooms on the second floor of the museum, sees a special selection of oil paintings set up on glass and Japanese paper made by the artist in the last 4 years, many of which on display to the public for the first time time.
