Music in Gironde: with the unclassifiable Thomas de Pourquery, things are going to move at Rocher de Palmer

The saxophonist-turned-pop star will be taking over Palmer's Rock on May 9th to present his latest album, "Let the Monster Fall." Bring your sneakers: it's going to be a blast!
To follow the course of Thomas de Pourquery , it is better to throw away your compass and stick to the sole pleasure of frequenting an artist who, as rarely happens in the world of jazz, follows his desires, and his desires only. He who declared that he chose the saxophone because there were no more trumpets in the store has nevertheless found the way to be one of the most gifted instrumentalists of his generation, trained with Stefano di Battista and crowned with two Victoires du Jazz (2014 and 2017). Twenty-five years of career, 12 albums. A look at his online profile on streaming platforms is enough to get an idea of the character: Thomas de Pourquery does not like to make music alone. He has more collaborations than solo albums (Frànçois and The Atlas Mountains, Jeanne Added, Oxmo Puccino, Metronomy...), and even on his latest album "Let the Monster Fall", he is always accompanied, as in the album "Nougaro" where he performs with André Minvielle and Babx.
Under the singer labelPerhaps that's why at Rocher de Palmer, he'll be sharing the stage with Vonfelt : drummer, singer, and just as unclassifiable. Because yes, more recently, Thomas de Pourquery has traded the breath of the saxophone for that of the naked voice, recording his last two albums under the singer label. An opportunity for him to assert himself as a man of style, a pop star who doesn't hesitate to dance naked under a yellow toga for a video, or even to join the Olympus of French variety in a record of melodies by... Gabriel Fauré. Singing is for him the opportunity to put words to music, and to deliver what his heavy heart had to say. Some of the lyrics were written during adolescence, and are set here to the fever of an electro-pop that makes you think as much as it makes you dance and, above all, that makes you want to go down to the pit at Rocher.
