La Teste-de-Buch: the Minister of Sports meets young people trained for the BAFA

Marie Barsacq met with young people training to become holiday camp leaders in La Teste-de-Buch on Friday, May 2, before going to the Castel Landou holiday center in Lanton.
On a street in La Teste-de-Buch, between the Rocher port and the La Hume port in Gujan-Mestras, there is a large summer camp and campsite run by the Castres-based association Les Bonnes Vacances. It also rents its premises to the French Union of Holiday Centres (UFCV), which trains young people for the BAFA (certificate of aptitude for activity leader functions).
Minister of Sports, Youth, and Community Life Marie Barsacq attended a training session in La Teste-de-Buch on Friday, May 2, accompanied by the MP and elected officials from the town. She spoke with young people and UFCV officials. One wants to "become a physical education teacher," another thinks it's "a good way to work in the summer," and a third believes that "we give as much to the children as they give to us."
The minister then visited the Castel Landou holiday center in Lanton to discover a "learning" summer camp that combines fun and education. These trips are part of the government's desire to expand the number of summer camps, increasing the number of young people enrolled from 1.2 million today to 1.5 million.
