The Hospices Civils de Lyon are partnering with the Lyon Hockey Club to provide medical support to players.

Lyon Hockey Club players will now be able to benefit from the sports-related services of the HCL (Hospices Civils de Lyon), thanks to a partnership signed this summer.
As the season prepares to begin for the Lyon Hockey Club team, the club announces a partnership with the Hospices Civils de Lyon. Primarily focused on the medical monitoring of players, this partnership will allow the team to benefit from the services involved in sports medicine at the HCL.
This is an opportunity for the HCL to advance research into symptoms characteristic of a sport that has not yet been studied much, such as concussions, hip pathologies and biomechanical specificities.
Tailor-made support
With this partnership, all players on the Division 1 team were able to benefit from a pre-season assessment, including a SCAT (concussion) assessment, a dietary inventory and a search for symptoms of "overtraining".
In addition, the team was able to carry out an in-depth stress test within the respiratory function exploration department: "The objective is to offer each player an appropriate assessment, taking into account their medical history and the position they occupy on the ice (...) In hockey, the bulk of the monitoring is done before the resumption of competitions and this pre-season assessment stage is therefore essential," explains Doctor Stoffer, physiologist.
During the season, LHC players who become injured will also be able to benefit from protocols designed by HCL sports doctors. These protocols will include emergency consultations, rehabilitation, concussion assessments, and specialized sports surgeries.
