Lyon: work on the Ainay home has begun

Renovation work has begun on the Ainay residential home in Lyon's 2nd arrondissement. Ninety-two accommodation places and sixteen day care places will be created.
On Wednesday, October 1st, the President of the Lyon Metropolitan Area, the Mayor of the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon, and the Departmental Director of the Rhône and Lyon Metropolitan Area at the Regional Health Agency (ARS) were present in the 2nd arrondissement to lay the foundation stone for the Ainay residential home rehabilitation project.
Located on Rue Jarente, the site housed 116 people with mental disabilities until January. These people have since been temporarily relocated to other sites to allow for the start of rehabilitation work.
The laying of this foundation stone marks the beginning of the building's complete renovation. A total of 92 residential places and sixteen day care places will be created on the new site. The renovation also aims to comply with current energy and technical standards.
With delivery scheduled for the end of 2027, the project represents a total investment of €29.98 million, spread over twenty years. The project's implementation relies in particular on the rental of a new, additional site and the inclusion of additional operating costs of €1.5 million per year, the impact of which for the Metropolis is estimated at €1.2 million each year.
It should be noted that the ARS and the Sainte-Marie Fund are also contributing to the project, with respective contributions of 637,000 euros and 1.5 million euros.
