With singer Jehnny Beth, the multidisciplinary punk spirit

A comical scene on the summer terrace of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris on Wednesday, June 18, late in the afternoon. At the outdoor bar, with its breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower, chic attire is the order of the day, with lounge music, cocktails, and champagne. A few meters from this gathering, the atmosphere is quite different. A swarm of trendy neo-punks are waiting outside the Yoyo club, where the Arte music show "Echoes" is scheduled to take place. These passionate young girls and boys in elaborately destroyed looks are there to attend the concert by the Australian garage band Amyl and the Sniffers. The mistress of ceremonies for this colorful evening is the equally charismatic rocker and actress Jehnny Beth.
The day before, we had a meeting with the former volcanic frontwoman of the British post-punk band Savages – two albums released in 2013 and 2016 that achieved international success – in the offices of Walter Films (which produces her show "Echoes"), located on the top floor of a building in Belleville. With her black hair pulled back, blond highlights, and a self-designed, ripped T-shirt with the words "Broken" printed in red, the 40-year-old French musician, actress, and presenter is there to promote her second solo album, You Heartbreaker, You. However, it's difficult to stick to this single subject with this artist who is constantly overwhelmed by a multitude of projects.
