Paipa will host Termatalia 2025 to consolidate thermal and wellness tourism in the country.

For the first time, the municipality of Paipa, in Boyacá, will host the 23rd edition of the International Thermal Tourism, Health and Wellness Fair – Termatalia Colombia 2025 , which will be held from September 24 to 26 at the Sochagota Hotel.

The event reaches a destination recognized as the epicenter of thermal baths in Colombia, thanks to the unique properties of its thermal-mineral waters of volcanic origin.
Nationwide, the country has more than 50 thermal spa resorts spread across different regions, offering experiences ranging from high-mountain settings to tropical and urban environments , with multiple therapeutic, recreational, and community uses.
The fair is organized by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism (MinCIT), Fontur, and Cotelco Boyacá Chapter, with the support of the Paipa Thermal Institute, the Paipa Mayor's Office, and the Boyacá Governor's Office. The aim is to strengthen the sector's competitiveness, consolidate the country as an international benchmark , and project Colombia onto the global map of wellness tourism.

The academic program will feature experts from Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Spain, France, Hungary, Mexico, Thailand , and Colombia, who will share knowledge and experiences to promote the sustainable development of thermalism.
Recent experiences at Uruguay 2023 and Ourense 2024 (Spain) confirmed Termatalia's potential as a platform for training, negotiation, and international exchange. In Uruguay, public-private partnerships stood out, while in Ourense, networks with 28 tour operators were consolidated, and Colombia was officially announced as the next host city.
More than 4,000 professionals from 25 countries participated in both editions, creating global cooperation networks and strengthening the strategic positioning of thermal tourism worldwide.

Beyond the local impact, Termatalia Colombia 2025 seeks to raise awareness among entrepreneurs, media outlets, and stakeholders in the value chain about the need for clear and sustainable regulations that guarantee the responsible use of thermal waters.
The meeting will contribute to the training of industry stakeholders, foster multisectoral cooperation, stimulate the local economy , and highlight the value of thermal water as a strategic resource for wellness tourism in Colombia, the Land of Beauty.
