Weather in Bogotá and Colombia from September 23 to 26: Get your umbrella ready for rain, cloudy skies, and unstable days.

The Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam ) reported its latest weather forecast for the week of September 23-26, 2025, across the country.
Although the first few days will be dominated by partly cloudy skies and dry weather, authorities warn that significant rainfall is expected on Thursday and Friday , with possible impacts in the capital and several municipalities in Cundinamarca.

The capital of the republic begins the week with dry weather, but according to the institute, rainfall will increase between Thursday and Friday.
Tuesday, September 23, 2025 A cool morning is expected, with temperatures around 9°C. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected during the morning and afternoon, with a low chance of rain. Scattered showers are possible in the south of the city at night.
Wednesday, September 24 The city will also experience cloudy skies for much of the day, with increasing cloudiness in the afternoon. Localized rain is expected in western and northern Bogotá. Maximum temperatures will be close to 20°C.
Thursday, September 25 The agency forecasts an increase in continuous rainfall beginning early this morning, intensifying in the afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible in the south and east of the capital.
Friday, September 26 Finally, for the week's close, rain of varying intensity is forecast throughout the day. There's also a higher probability of heavy downpours in the afternoon and evening. The low will reach 10°C and a high of 18°C.

In the rest of the country, the week begins with relatively dry conditions. However, increasing cloudiness and rain of varying intensity are expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
Tuesday, September 23 Predominantly dry weather across much of the country. Isolated showers in the Pacific region, the southern Amazon, and the foothills of the Llanos.
Wednesday, September 24 Meanwhile, increased cloud cover is expected in the Andean region, along with moderate rain in Antioquia, Tolima, Santanderes, and Cundinamarca. Lightning is also possible in Chocó and Valle del Cauca.

According to IDEAM, this day will be the wettest of the week. Heavy downpours are expected in the Pacific region, the southern Caribbean, Córdoba, Sucre, and the central Andean region. Electrical activity is possible in Antioquia, Cauca, and Nariño.
Friday, September 26 At the end of the week, rainfall will persist in the Andean region and the Caribbean, with increasing risks of landslides. Likewise, the Amazon region will experience rainfall of varying intensity, with a tendency to decrease towards the evening.
Alerts in Cundinamarca for low temperatures and landslides Meanwhile, the outlook for Cundinamarca reflects a high risk level; municipalities such as Mosquera, Choachí, Facatativá, Tenjo, and Subachoque reported minimum temperatures between 1°C and 4°C, which increases the risk in mountainous areas.
In addition, the authorities maintain different alert levels:
- High in Medina : high risk of landslides.
- Moderate in Chipaque, Gachalá, Guayabetal, Paratebueno, Ubalá and Yacopí: medium probability of landslides.
- Low in Bogotá: reduced possibility of damage, although not ruled out.

Despite the expected rains, Cundinamarca remains under moderate alert for vegetation fires. Municipalities such as Anolaima, Cucunubá, Fúquene, Guachetá, Lenguazaque, Sutatausa, and Ubaté are under alert.
In parallel, there are hydrological alerts due to the probability of sudden floods:
- Sumapaz River and tributaries : risk in Cabrera, Pandi, Ricaurte and Silvania.
- Guayuriba River : threat in Choachí, Fómeque, Guayabetal and Une.
- Río Negro: probability of flooding in several surrounding municipalities.
The organization also urged citizens to be alert to changes in the weather and follow preventive measures.
Avoid outdoor activities during thunderstorms, check road conditions before traveling, clean roofs and gutters to prevent flooding, report landslides or emergencies to the appropriate authorities, and stay informed through official channels.
