DWTS Judges Share Message to Elaine Hendrix Amid Hospitalization

DWTS Judges Share Message to Elaine Hendrix Amid Hospitalization
‘Dancing With the Stars' Maks Chmerkovskiy Slams "Absurd" Jan Ravnik Casting

Elaine Hendrix is receiving all the love from her ensemble.

After the Parent Trap actress missed the Oct. 28 Halloween episode of Dancing With the Stars due to her hospitalization for a rib injury sustained during rehearsal that morning, the judges’ panel shared an outpouring of love for her.

“First and foremost, we love you, Elaine,” Derek Hough said. “We’re sending you our best. Speedy recovery, truly.”

In addition to noting the judges “can’t wait” to have her back, the former dance pro shared his thoughts on a recording of Elaine’s last full rehearsal for Halloween Night, which the dancing competition’s rules allow to be judged in the case of a contestant’s absence.

“It's really hard because we have to judge that, but I know Elaine tonight would have gone up 10 gears,” Derek continued. “She is a born performer. With that said, even in that rehearsal, still so, so impressive.”

Meanwhile, former pro—and this week’s guest judge—Cheryl Burke emphasized that she is a “huge fan of Elaine’s” and argued that she and her dance partner Alan Bersten have been “underrated a little bit” in previous weeks.

And after fellow judge Bruno Tonioli praised Elaine and Alan for a “great job,” Carrie Ann Inaba shared her passionate reaction to the 54-year-old’s trajectory during season 34.

“I am broken-hearted truly for you, Alan and Elaine,” she said. “After last week's success, that momentum would have taken her to another level. Already I was like, ‘Damn, girl,’ watching that rehearsal. That is amazing.”

“She was looking hot and sexy, and the chemistry was so real and passionate,” Carrie Ann continued. “She's so strong, and she's such a warrior.”

In a direct plea to Elaine, she added, “She's gotta come back! Come on back, Elaine!”

Ahead of receiving a total score of 32 from the judges—eights across the board—Alan gave an update on his partner’s injury.

“I spoke to Elaine, and she's determined to come back and perform next week, if we are fortunate enough to make it,” he told host Julianne Hough. “The doctors have cleared her 100 percent. So, please vote.”

In a message to his partner, he added, “Elaine, I love you. I'm so proud of you, and I'll see you soon.”
