In March 2025, 19-year-old Greiber Eduardo Berrio fought for his life after a brutal dog attack. He suffered more than 150 bites, resulting in the loss of both his arms and ears.
Four months later, many of which were spent in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), she shared her story of recovery with Noticias Caracol and appealed to district authorities, as she maintains that her case could have been avoided.
"Death is not the end, but a beginning, because beyond the physical, there is the spiritual," the young man said.
After losing both of his arms, Eduardo learned to use his feet and legs to organize his room and send text messages. However, he has begun a new recovery process and requires prosthetics for his upper limbs, more than 100 therapies, and treatment for his scars.
