A lover of folk art, Cándida Fernández also wears it: in this image she shows off a cape from Hueyapan, Puebla, woven on a backstrap loom, dyed with indigo and embroidered with cross stitch, which she complements with a brooch from Cusco, Peru.

Historian Cándida Fernández de Calderón has left behind a legacy that expands and branches out, like the tree of life displayed in her living room: with its lush foliage and vivid colors, the clay piece by Metepec artisan Óscar Soteno represents the fruits harvested by the former director of Fomento Cultural Banamex (FCB), who retired after 33 years of work.
