A few days ago, several people questioned a woman's behavior on the TikTok platform after she posted a video in which she appeared to be feeding a capybara with mate and cookies.
In the recording, the user, identified as Angie, mentions that she is in the company of 'Flor,' a female capybara who, according to her, came to her doorstep asking for food.

“Hi, here we are with 'Flor', who came to get some pastries for breakfast,” the capybara's owner begins her post, while holding it on her legs to place it at the same height as the table.
As the conversation continues, the man tries to bring his mouth closer to the nearby container to take a sip of the drink, but the woman thwarts the movement, indicating that she cannot ingest this product.
Despite this, the animal again tries to drink mate directly from the straw, so the woman decides to hold the base of the object to facilitate the liquid's flow to 'Flor's' mouth.
Meanwhile, the person who was recording the moment with their cell phone and is not in the frame passes a cookie to the protagonist of the video, but the user tells them, "She already ate some cookies and drank some mate."

Although the video lasts only a few seconds, as soon as Angie posted it on social media, users questioned the type of food they feed the capybara without taking into account its natural characteristics.
"Capybaras aren't human, they shouldn't be fed as if they were," one internet user wrote in the post. Others also pointed out that wild animals often die due to some people's inappropriate practices.
Given the amount of criticism Angie received, she decided to remove the clip from all digital platforms to put an end to the controversy. However, days later, she re-uploaded an edited fragment in which the capybara no longer appears eating cookies or drinking mate.
"What people don't understand is that 'Flor' is only curious about the light bulb. Thank you all for your support every day," was the caption the woman used to accompany the TikTok post.
