The seventh edition of the Azcuy Prize, the competition that brings contemporary art to new audiences, has been launched.

The seventh edition of the Azcuy Prize, the competition that brings contemporary art to new audiences, has been launched.

The developer Azcuy launched the seventh edition of the Azcuy Prize, a competition that, in less than a decade, has become a classic for artists and a key management platform for bringing contemporary art to new audiences . The winning project will receive $10,000 , cover its construction costs, and will be located in one of the buildings the construction company is developing in the Caballito neighborhood.

Diego Bianchi, Adriana Bustos, Nacha Canvas , Fabián Bercic, Hernán Soriano, and Benjamín Felice were awarded in previous editions. Except for Felice's project, which is currently in production, the rest of the works are already part of the Donna de Azcuy building series.

The competition is sponsored by the Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art . As in each edition, the proposal consists of developing a unique work of art that will be installed in one of the buildings in Azcuy . In addition to the winning prize, the finalists will receive $1,500.

The call, which will remain open until September 15, represents a unique opportunity for artists from across the country to create and implement large-scale artistic projects , specifically designed for the buildings in the Donna series. This year, the winner will work on the Donna Settima building.

The call is aimed at Argentine artists, individual or collective , as well as foreigners with a minimum of three years' residence in the country.

The initiative aims to promote the presence of the visual arts in our city's urban and residential development by exploring the intersection of art and architecture.

As a new feature, this year's award will expand its collaborative networks, with support from institutions in various cities across the country to foster closer contact with artists from different regions. Currently, the Castagnino+ MACRO Museum in Rosario and the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts in Salta have confirmed their participation, where in-person events with representatives of the Award will be held.

These actions seek to deepen the proposal initiated in 2024, when representatives of the Prize traveled to Mendoza and Córdoba during the call for applications to give presentations at the Mendoza Museum of Modern Art and the Evita Palacio Ferreyra Museum in Córdoba, establishing direct contact with local scenes.
