This Morning viewers say same thing as Vanessa Feltz receives live mammogram

This Morning viewers took to X to praise Vanessa Feltz after the broadcaster bravely underwent a mammogram live on the show.
During today's show, presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley announced that regular contributor Vanessa would be taking viewers along with her to undergo a mammogram - an x-ray of the breasts that can be used to check for breast cancer.
"Fair play to Vanessa for doing this, it’s a little uncomfortable (literally for a few seconds) but not painful, and can save your life!" wrote one fan on X, formerly Twitter, while another commented: "Well done to Vanessa!!! Love that woman!" A third added: "Good on Vanessa for doing this live," while a fourth said: "A big cheer for the great Vanessa Phelps for having a mammogram live on air, brilliant. She's smiling but it's a brave thing to do live." Ben and Cat also praised her, saying that she was "brilliant" for doing something so personal on TV.
Vanessa has spent years encouraging others to check themselves for cancer symptoms after opening up about her mother's cancer diagnosis back in 2023. The TV presenter's mother died aged 57 in 1995 after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of endometrial cancer, but revealed that it was spotted too late by doctors.
"My mother was suddenly getting the most tremendous abdominal pain but only sporadically and only sometimes and very unpredictably," she told Talk TV in 2023. "It was incredibly painful when it happened and she went from doctor to doctor to doctor, specialist to specialist and they all pretty much did that pat her on the head thing saying, you know, 'Are you neurotic? Are you looking for attention? Is it the menopause?' And it turned out to be endometrial cancer and she died at the age of 57."
Last week, Vanessa's ex Ben Ofoedu announced that he is engaged to a new partner after cheating on the presenter, having proposed shortly before Valentine's Day.
Ben introduced his new partner Vanessa Brown on Instagram in January, with an insider revealing that she was "completely surprised" by the proposal. "Vanessa was completely surprised. They were walking through the park, reminiscing about Elf, when Ben suddenly proposed. It was so heartfelt — happy tears, laughter, and, of course, an immediate ‘yes!’”
Earlier today, Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid halted the show to issue a correction after revealing an incorrect golf handicap for Ben Shephard. The presenter said, laughing: "Ben Shephard has got in touch. 'I expect a correction. I play golf off seven, not 15 - which has taken a lot of pain and tears and swearing. I am fuming downstairs downstairs,' says Ben."
Lorraine Kelly - who was on the GMB sofa to chat about her upcoming show - asked: "Was that when you were talking to Anton Du Beke?" To which Richard said: "Yes. Don't sue us."
This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
