Keke Palmer Brings Back the Statement Necklace with Vintage Dior Piece
Keke Palmer is keeping the statement necklace alive at a time when celebrities are going without jewelry.
The actor and singer is proving she has “Millennial Diva” in her Instagram bio for a reason — by bringing back the 2010s fashion trend that had a chokehold on 90s babies everywhere. On Saturday, February 23, Palmer attended the NAACP Image Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles, where she took home the coveted Entertainer of the Year award.
Palmer stepped onto the carpet in an all-black ensemble styled to perfection. The One of Them Days actor wore a black Versace corseted dress that clung tightly around her torso and hung down to her knees. The fabric bunching detail added a nice touch to the otherwise sleek little black dress.

But the star of her outfit was the vintage Christian Dior by John Galliano choker that sat around her neck. The beautiful black beaded necklace featured rows of jewels that hung down dramatically to the center of her chest with a large black bead. The necklace was originally featured in the designer's 1998 ready-to-wear collection.
Palmer kept the necklace front and center by wearing simple square earrings and an emerald ring. She paired the entire outfit with Saint Laurent tie-up heels.

“I just want to say that it's so important that we all come here together and celebrate one another with one another,” Palmer said in her acceptance speech. “I've been in the industry for 20 years. Nobody has uplifted me more than you all, the people in this room.”
She continued: “It's important to remember that what we choose and what we deem as important is enough.”
Keke Palmer has kept busy over the last few years, including with her recent buddy comedy One of Them Days alongside SZA, who made her acting debut. The pair connected in 2022 when Palmer hosted Saturday Night Live alongside the singer as a musical guest. SZA said it was because of Palmer that she was able to get through her first acting gig, telling Teen Vogue that “Keke literally ushered me through.”
