KATSEYE Share Their Signature Scents and Go-To Perfumes

If you've ever wondered what the KATSEYE members smell like, you don't have to wonder anymore because we have all the deets on each of the members' signature scents.

Speaking to Teen Vogue's Donya Momenian for their May/June 2025 cover story, Sophia Laforteza, Manon Bannerman, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung took the chance to wax poetic about fragrance, and though their comments did not make the final cut, it'd be a shame to let the members' perfume suggestions go to waste.

As newly minted Glossier campaign stars, Sophia shares that the group has a collective soft spot for the fan-favorite Glossier You, which is famously formulated to be a “skin-scent enhancer” – i.e., a fragrance that reacts to the wearer's pH balance and therefore will smell slightly different on everyone. (ICYMI: Aside from the original You, Glossier also sells You Rêve, You Doux, and You Fleur.)

“I feel like it's so attractive when someone smells good,” Manon boldly proclaims when speaking of scents. “It's my favorite compliment, like, ‘You smell good,’” Lara immediately piggybacks on her comments.

Out of all the KATSEYE members, Sophia is the one who perks up the most at the mention of perfume. With the influence of her mom, the star has been a perfume buff since childhood. In high school, her signature scent used to be since-discounted Bath and Body Works' Vanilla Bean Noel. “The green one, I literally was obsessed," she shares, “and all of my friends from high school are like, ‘I remember you smelled like vanilla and sugar and cookies.’”

However, her taste has evolved over time, and her go-to now is Bella Hadid's Orebella in Blooming Fire. “At night is when I wear perfume. Yoonchae always sees me at night before I go to bed, I spray perfume on because it feels more for myself,” Sophia shares. “I've been using it at night, especially because it's the hydrating one. So I put it on my skin and I love it. And then I mix it. I love to mix. And one of my favorite perfumes to mix all the time is Jo Malone.”

During the day, Sophia sticks to baby cologne. “My mom taught this to me. In my room, I have huge bottles of baby cologne, and for some reason, when I'm at home, when people smell that, they know it's me or my mom.”

“A lot of my scents depend on what I'm wearing,” she continues. “So I have a lot of floral, a lot of refreshing, and then a lot of more sexier scents. Even if it's a photo shoot, I want to smell good because I can smell myself and I think it's an accessory. Your perfume is an accessory. I always have at least two different kinds of scents on me. It's always me matching the vibe.”

Like Sophia, Manon is a big fan of mixing and layering her perfumes; however, her reigning choices are from cult favorite brand Le Labo and can be worn on their own to appreciate their full potential.

Her go-to choices are two different sides of the spectrum. First, she opts for Le Labo Rose 31, which mixes notes of Centifolia rose with woodsy undertones from cumin, olibanum, cedar, and amber with some musk. Mysterious and feminine, just like Manon. Her second Le Labo choice is the classic Santal 33, a genderless favorite among many celebs that Manon describes as “goated.” The scent features cardamom, iris, and violet, with a spicy side of sandalwood and cedarwood.

On the layering front, she's been experimenting with layering Glossier You Deux — which features sweet violet, palo santo, and ambrox — with Orebella's Nightcap — whose key notes are ginger, cardamom, guaiacwood, vanilla, cistus, sandalwood, and patchouli.

“I'm trying out. Every day it's something different, but right now it's the Orebella with the white Glossier,” she shares. “I don't have a signature combo, but I just mix anything really. And if it smells good, it's a win.”

Unlike Manon and Sophia, Daniela sticks to one fragrance as her signature and is as sweet as her personality. The go-to scent for the star is none other than one of TikTok's favorites: Kayali's Vanilla | 28.

“The color is a good dark red, dark purple,” Daniela shares before adding, “I'm really big on vanilla stuff.” Kayali describes Daniela's signature scent as warm and spicy, so don't expect solely a sugar rush. Vanilla | 28 is a gourmand scent mixing notes of Madagascan vanilla orchids with Brazilian tonka absolute and notes of musk, amber, patchouli, and brown sugar woods for a creamy and indulgent result.

Though she hasn't quite found her footing in the world of layering to share her go-to combo, rest assured because she's testing the waters. “I'm always trying different combinations. I don't have one [yet], especially now that I just got different types of perfume,” she says, sharing that she just got all four fragrances from Orebella. “I'm experimenting right now."

Like Sophia, Lara also credits her mom for her love of fragrance, and, also like Sophia, she has a soft spot for Jo Malone fragrances, though she doesn't share which one specifically. She's also partial to glittery body mists.

Her forever go-to, however, is one sensitive noses and skins will appreciate: Dior's J'adore Parfum d'Eau. “[It's] the one with no alcohol,” she shares. “It smells so good and it lasts a long time.”

The main accords of Dior's water-based J'adore are radiant jasmine, velvety magnolia, and fresh Neroli, rooting the scent firmly in the floral realm. If you are baffled by the absence of alcohol, the “highly concentrated water-based formula” is exclusive to Dior and the brand, and clearly also Lara, claims it's “as intense and long-lasting as an eau de parfum.”

Megan's signature scent is perhaps the most signature of them all, as the star has remained faithful to it since her early teens. “I've been wearing that for five years now,” she proudly shares. “I love it. It's so good.”

It takes people years to figure out what they are into olfactorily, but what can we say? Mandy Megan knew who she was from a very early age!

The scent in question is Valentino's Voce Viva Eau, a timeless, citrusy floral scent anchored by notes of Italian bergamot, gardenia, mandarin, orange blossom absolute, and crystal moss accord with just a touch of vanilla for a side dose of sweetness.

She might be the maknae (a.k.a. the youngest) in KATSEYE, but Yoonchae is the de facto international trendsetter within the group, making sure everyone is up to date with the latest K-beauty trends. However, for her signature scent, Yoonchae glanced over popular Korean brands like Tamburins and pesade and instead looked to Swedish perfumier Byredo.

Founded in Stockholm in 2006, Byredo is a popular choice among Korean idols. However, though many gravitate towards popular scents like Mojave Ghost, Blanche, and Rose of No Man's Land, Yoonchae's pick is a bit more of a hidden gem.

Speaking to Teen Vogue, the star confirms her go-to scent is Young Rose by Byredo — and eau de parfum that the brand describes as “an ode to the perennial restlessness of youth.” (Fitting for Yoonchae!) The main notes are Sichuan peppers and ambrette seeds layered over damascena rose and orris, and a base of musk ambroxan.
