ITV 'set to sign Maya Jama and another huge star' for primetime Saturday shows

ITV 'set to sign Maya Jama and another huge star' for primetime Saturday shows
Maya will be returning to The Masked Singer as a judge

ITV bosses are said to be keen on signing Maya Jama and KSI for more big shows.

Bosses at the corporation are rumoured to be trying to secure two big names for their top Saturday night shows after the Love Island presenter and YouTuber turned Britain's Got Talent judge impressed them with their talent, in a move that's designed to appeal to a younger audience and earn them even higher viewing figures.

Maya, 30, will return as a panelist on The Masked Singer for its seventh series, while, Britain’s Got Talent producers are reportedly preparing a major offer to bring back KSI, 31, as a judge for the 2026 series. The YouTuber and musician made a strong impression on Saturday’s BGT launch episode, which drew 5.5 million viewers.

Sources have claimed that bosses know that Maya and KSI are a "pair of superstars" who are "shining" on the top entertainment programmes, which drag in millions of viewers.

A TV insider shared to The Sun: “Maya went down a storm with viewers on the last series of The Masked Singer, even though she had big shoes to fill taking over from Rita Ora. KSI was also a breath of fresh air on BGT on Saturday. He’ll help attract a much younger audience.|

With 55 million followers across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Spotify, KSI has significant influence, especially among younger viewers who increasingly watch TV clips online. However, a BGT spokeswoman stated, “There have been no discussions regarding future series with any judge.” It comes after KSI's Sidemen co-star, Vikkstar123, spoke about his debut Britain's Got Talent. He told the Mirror: "It's great that he's doing Britain's Got Talent. I think it's going to provide something fresh, exciting, something that all of the younger people can connect to and also it's KSI, he's such a character. I'm looking forward to seeing his antics on that show."

Earlier this month The Masked Singer fans were left fuming with many threatening to turn off their TVs due to the show's "complicated" clues. The grand final of the show saw Wolf, Dressed Crab and Pufferfish go head to head to bag the top spot. Judges Davina McCall, Maya Jama, Jonathan Ross and guest judge and recent winner, Danny Jones were seen pulling their hair as they attempted to guess which famous face was behind the rather extravagant costumes.

On Reddit, viewers vented their frustrations about the ITV talent show, discussing what they'd change and what they'd keep. A common frustration was the challenging clues provided to the guessing panel each series. One viewer lamented, "I think the clues are too hard to work out who people are.

"I get not putting includes that are too obvious but this year's feels so hard, I can hardly work out any!"" Another chimed in: "Make the clues less complicated! It might just be me but I find them so weird."

They cited an example involving Grayson Perry, where a clue referenced a doctor's appointment in Chelsea at 11am, which turned out to be a play on his initials 'GP' rather than anything to do with doctors or Chelsea.

A third fan pointed out, "In the first series, [the clues] were way too easy. However each series the clues have been getting more and more ridiculous. They are only easy to guess if you are an absolute super fan of that particular celebrity."

They mentioned how a hint of art books indicated Poodle (Tom from Keane) studied art history, something only a Keane aficionado would catch. Additionally, some fans are peeved about the number of children in the audience, fearing it could affect voting outcomes.
