ITV's The Chase to introduce major change for the first time in show's history

The Chase: Bradley Walsh asks Shaun Wallace 'what's happened?'
Since its launch on ITV in 2009, The Chase has been a beloved fixture in the mid-evening slot for over 15 years. But now, the much-loved show is set for a major revamp as it prepares to tweak its questions for the first time ever.
Bradley Walsh's iconic quiz show is getting a makeover for a special episode, with producers aiming to spice things up and deliver a unique edition that ties in with the upcoming Oscars ceremony next weekend.
The contestants will have their trivia skills tested while also celebrating the glamour of the famous awards event, and it is understood that one of the Chaser's is already getting up to speed on previous Oscar ceremonies.
An insider spilled the beans to The Sun about the fresh twist to the usual format, saying: "ITV are going big on the Oscars again this year and getting The Chase crew involved."
They dished further details: "Starting with the contestants - who are named after nominated hopefuls Demi Moore, Karla Sofia Gascon, Timothee Chalamet and Adrien Brody."
The source continued: "They'll be up against Shaun Wallace, aka The Dark Destroyer, who has been brushing up on his Oscars knowledge."
But it's not just the show's format that's been drawing attention, speculation around Bradley Walsh's future with the programme has also been making waves, reports Bristol Live.
Bradley, 64, has been a staple of the ITV programme since its inception, even having a hand in naming several of the Chasers on the quiz show.
The telly veteran announced his plans to front a brand new show, Bradley Walsh: Egypt's Cosmic Code, promising viewers a side of him they've "never seen before" as he embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to explore Ancient Egypt in all its splendour.
In a teaser clip filled with anticipation, the presenter revealed his long-time fascination for Egypt, saying: "I've had a fascination with Egypt and the pyramids for a very, very long time. It's an anomaly, an absolute cornucopia of ideas and fantasies."
Following the announcement of his new TV venture, rumours began to swirl about Bradley's tenure on The Chase potentially drawing to a close as he approaches retirement. However, he's firmly stated that he has no intentions of leaving.
The Chase airs on ITV1, weekdays, from 5pm.
