When officers arrived, she answered the intercom and said the code word “Glovo,” pretending it was a food delivery in an attempt to get help without alerting Soncin. Police had to break down the door and found Genini with multiple stab wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene. The prosecutor reported she was stabbed 24 times.

The Legal Aftermath and Soncin’s Background

Gianluca Soncin, a 52-year-old businessman from Biella, was arrested at the scene after reportedly inflicting superficial cuts to his own neck. He has been charged with murder aggravated by premeditation, stalking, and femicide.

During his initial interrogation, he chose to remain silent. His past includes an arrest in 2010 for his alleged involvement in an international ring that fraudulently sold luxury cars.
