Boris Johnson says 'I've got to go' as he abruptly ends Good Morning Britain interview

GMB: Boris Johnson abruptly leaves after interview
Boris Johnson swiftly exited during his chat with Good Morning Britain hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid.
Susanna shared her eagerness for an interview with the ex-prime minister, hinting to showbiz guru Richard Arnold that she might need to interrupt his airtime if Mr. Johnson came on their programme.
The former Tory leader managed to squeeze in a live conversation from Kyiv with the presenters, marking the three-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Kicking off the interview, Susanna quizzed: "This is a bit of surprise that you've turned up in Kyiv. It's a big day, of course, because world leaders are having this call about what to do about Ukraine. What do you think should happen?"
Mr Johnson quickly dismissed any suggestion that Ukraine had instigated the conflict, asserting: "It's total rubbish. Ukraine is the victim," reports the Express.
He hinted at nearing the finalisation of a minerals pact between the United States and Ukraine.
"That commits the US not only to future financing of Ukraine but also to a free, sovereign and secure Ukraine under Donald Trump," he elaborated. "That is not to be sneezed at, it's a very important commitment."
After addressing another point, he interjected: "Anyways, I've got to love you and leave you."
Richard seemed reluctant to let him go, as he pressed: "As a former prime minister, how do you deal with an American president who says that black is white. How do you talk to him?"
Mr Johnson emphasised the importance of persistence by stating you "have to keep knocking the ball back over the net" and described the situation as "crazy stuff" but encouraged examining the actual proposals, asserting: "This is crazy stuff but you've got to look at what is actually being proposed and when you look at the potential of the agreement, I think it's positive for Ukraine."
With time pressing, Mr Johnson abruptly announced his departure, saying: "I've got to go."
As he detached himself from the interview gear and left the frame, Susanna commented: "Thank you very much indeed for your time this morning. Just disentangling himself from our microphone and off he goes."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
