Blue Ivy Carter Shines in a Glittering Gold Gown Beside Rumi on Beyoncé’s Tour

Blue Ivy Carter Shines in a Glittering Gold Gown Beside Rumi on Beyoncé’s Tour
preview for "Everything is Love" for Beyoncé and Jay-Z

Two nights into Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour, Blue Ivy Carter has rightfully earned acclaim for her work as one of her mother’s dancers. But the 13-year-old also had a very special fashion moment when Beyoncé brought Blue to the stage with her little sister, Rumi, and grandmother Tina Knowles.

The women all wore glittering ensembles, and Blue stood out in a draped gold gown. She kept a watchful eye on 7-year-old Rumi as Beyoncé performed “Protector.”

This is Blue and Rumi’s second time together onstage. They wore different outfits on opening night; Rumi was in a gold Oscar de la Renta minidress, while Blue sparkled in a custom Burberry ensemble.

The tour just started this week, and Blue is bound to make more appearances. For more on how to purchase tickets to an upcoming show, see our guide here.

Beyoncé recognizes her oldest child is a star in the making. In September, the singer told GQ, “Blue is an artist. She has great taste in music and fashion. She is a fantastic editor, painter, and actress. She has been creating characters since she was three. She’s a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage [during the Renaissance Tour]. Blue wanted it for herself. She took it seriously and she earned it. And most importantly, she had fun! We all watched her grow more and more every night before our eyes.”

She shared that her children “come with me everywhere I go. They come to my office after school, and they are in the studio with me. They are in dance rehearsals. It’s natural that they would learn my choreography.”

The singer has built her work schedule around her family, noting she only tours “when my kids are out of school. I always dreamt of a life where I could see the world with my family and expose them to different languages, architecture, and lifestyles.”
