34 Million Visitors to Museums a Year

The number of museums in Türkiye has reached 217. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that the Heritage to the Future Project, which aims to preserve Türkiye's rich cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations, has been expanded to include 224 excavation sites.

Minister Ersoy stated that the www.turkishmuseums.com website and social media efforts have made access to museums and archaeological sites easier. He noted that the website categorizes museums and archaeological sites by region and city, providing the most up-to-date information and exclusive content.

Ersoy also touched upon the night museum program, which was initiated to increase interest in museums and historical sites, and said that this program was implemented last year in important destinations such as Ephesus, Hierapolis, Olympos, Patara, Side Ancient Cities, and Cappadocia Güvercinlik Valley.

Last year, a total of 34 million people visited museums and historical sites.
