The cast is being announced... Will Sydney Sweeney be the new Bond girl?

After Amazon MGM Studios acquired the rights to the James Bond franchise, fans eagerly await the new face of the legendary agent 007. It has been announced that Denis Villeneuve, known for his work on Dune, Blade Runner 2049, Arrival, and Sicario, will direct the new film.

WHO WILL BE THE NEW 007?

Jacob Elordi, Tom Holland, and Harris Dickinson are among the names being considered for the new Bond role. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, James Norton, Cillian Murphy, Theo James, Idris Elba, Josh O'Connor, Jonathan Bailey, Regé-Jean Page, and Henry Golding were also previously considered for the role.

WILL THE BOND GIRL BE SYDNEY SWEENEY?

According to British newspaper The Sun, American actress Sydney Sweeney may play the iconic "Bond girl" in the new Bond film. The 27-year-old, who rose to fame in the Euphoria and The White Lotus series, has reportedly received support from Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Sweeney most recently starred in a film about the life of American boxer Christy Martin, for which she underwent a significant physical transformation.

AMAZON TOOK OVER THE SERIES

The James Bond films were adapted from Ian Fleming's novels and adapted for the big screen in 1962 by Albert "Cubby" Broccoli and Harry Saltzman. Broccoli's daughter, Barbara Broccoli, took over her father's duties with 1995's GoldenEye, continuing the production with Michael G. Wilson. Last February, the duo transferred all rights to the series to Amazon MGM Studios.

The last Bond film, No Time to Die, was released in 2021. It is not yet clear when filming will begin on the new film.
