Cinema culture is dying

İhsan Taş, one of the award-winning directors of Turkish cinema, made remarkable statements about the bad course of events in the cinema industry.
According to Sabah newspaper, the successful producer and director made the following statement while evaluating the reasons for the decline in the sector:
"There were a few prominent names whose films were watched by millions. When those names moved to digital platforms, cinema was virtually orphaned. Now, the theaters are empty, the box offices silent. I believe those who feed off cinema and then turn away are the ones most responsible for today's poor performance."
Taş emphasized that people are now moving away from cinema culture due to the conveniences brought by digitalization, and made the following call to everyone:
"Don't be disgruntled with cinema. Come, let's get cinema back on its feet together. Because if cinema collapses, we will lose not only an industry but also our dreams and culture forever."
