Green Crescent organized a workshop on drug abuse

According to a statement from Green Crescent, the workshop was held on August 5th at the Green Crescent Headquarters, Sepetçiler Pavilion, under the supervision of Green Crescent Scientific Board Member Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Karakükcü.

Experts from the General Directorate of Security, Department of Combating Narcotic Crimes, Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate, Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), AMATEM, YEDAM and relevant institutes of universities attended the workshop.

The program began with opening remarks, where participants shared their experiences in the field, exploring current issues related to drug abuse. The presentations emphasized that the rise in unregulated and unprescribed drug use has serious consequences not only for individual health but also for society.

The workshop addressed the current situation in a multifaceted manner, emphasizing the need for stronger, more sustainable, and more holistic collaborations in the fields of health, security, education, and inspection.

It was planned to create concrete outputs in the areas of prevention, intervention and policy development for drug abuse through working groups to be established in line with the emerging problems and needs.
