The historic Turkish bath in the Hungarian town of Törökkoppany has been turned into a Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Park.

The opening of the Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Park in the town of Törökkoppany was attended by Türkiye's Ambassador to Budapest, Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu, as well as many Hungarian officials.

🔹 AA Live for instant developmentsTurkish and Hungarian flags were hung at the opening ceremony held in the town, which was mentioned in Evliya Çelebi's Seyahatname and has retained the adjective "Turkish" in its name since the Ottoman period.
In his speech, Ambassador Ekşioğlu emphasized that feelings of peace and brotherhood, not hostility, prevail in the relations between the two ancient peoples, who have interacted closely at different periods of history.
Ekşioğlu thanked the Hungarian authorities for their sensitivity and cooperation in protecting and revealing the cultural heritage in Hungary.
Törökkoppany Mayor György Varga and Somogy Regional Council Deputy Chairman Adrian Szacjz stated in their statement that they want to use the Turkish bath monument and its surroundings as an activity area by integrating them into the daily life of the settlement.
On the other hand, there is also a statue of Gül Baba in the town square, which was placed in 2001 with the efforts of the then Budapest Ambassador Ender Arat.
