August 30th was celebrated in Tekirdağ with a lantern procession and a Manuş Baba concert.

August 30th was celebrated in Tekirdağ with a lantern procession and a Manuş Baba concert.

Mayor Yüceer and Şarköy Mayor Alpay Var shared in the holiday joy at the torchlight procession organized by Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality in Şarköy on the occasion of August 30th.

Following the march, Mayor Var congratulated all citizens on August 30th Victory Day at the concert venue. He thanked Yüceer for the event and wished everyone a pleasant time.

Yüceer emphasized the importance of victory and Victory Day and said:

"Today is a very precious day for us. We are in the 103rd year of the Great Offensive, which began on August 26, 1922, under the leadership of our eternal Commander-in-Chief, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and achieved victory on August 30. A nation, young and old, rejected slavery; they achieved the impossible in poverty. That day, the horses that ran raced to victory, every step taken by the heroic Mehmetçik was a step towards independence. With the faith of a commander who said, 'If we don't have guns, we have bayonets,' our nation wrote one of the greatest epics in history, regardless of poverty and hardship. What Atatürk and our heroic army left us is not only land, but also a homeland, a republic, and an honorable legacy. Protecting this legacy and carrying it to future generations is the indispensable duty of all of us. We must remind those who ignore this great victory that history is not easily written, that the price was paid with life and blood. We will not forget, we will not allow it to be forgotten. On the path shown by Atatürk, we will continue to defend our independence, our land, and our unity." We will protect our unity and solidarity. We will take every step with this awareness, and we will carry this beautiful country forward in unity and solidarity. Happy 103rd anniversary of our glorious victory. Long live the Republic, long live Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, long live Tekirdağ!

After the speeches, artist Manuş Baba took the stage and was presented with flowers by Yüceer and Var. The crowd joined in singing along to Manuş Baba's songs, combining the joy of victory with music.
