Let's go to the town of Monchique with Ana Bacalhau, 7th Legion and Marta Pereira da Costa

The “Vamos à vila” of Monchique is about to return, between the 30th of May and the 1st of June, it aims to be a moment of celebration of local traditions, in homage to what has gone and what we intend to maintain as tradition.
This is an event with veracity and essence that will invite everyone to participate in sharing the knowledge and flavors of Monchique, with the participation of guests, aiming at complementarity between territories.
The voice and traditions of a community were the creative thread for this project, where the particularities of the municipality and our territory allowed the entire idea to develop.
“Traditions were therefore the basis of our creation. We were inspired by the past, safeguarding collective and individual memory”, points out Monchique City Council .
Some streets in the town will be closed not only to organise the event, but also to change the pace and encourage visitors to explore the main areas, nooks and crannies, so that the public square becomes a place for celebration and traditions.
The organization highlights the authenticity associated with local products to “let them speak for themselves and highlight rural experiences, so that they result in an emotional archive, to save and preserve. A retrospective look where the aim is to create a connection between the community and various agents of civil society, in a gathering of knowledge, in favor of an identity”.
The 2025 edition of «Vamos à vila» brings with it some new features, namely the holding of two concerts in the new natural amphitheatre, located in Parque da Vila.
On the 30th, Ana Bacalhau will open the program with a concert at 9:30 pm. On the 31st, at 9:30 pm, 7.ª Legião will take to the stage.
The traditional concert at the Igreja Matriz will take place on June 1st, at 6 pm, with Marta Pereira da Costa.
During the three days of the event, entertainment will be constant with diverse performances, in a multitude of sounds, being the edition with the most extensive program, of all the other editions, encompassing the largest number of artists and bands.
The event itself will have a new look , with new seating areas, terraces and shaded areas and a greater variety of taverns.
From the perspective of complementarity between territories, the event will welcome the municipality of Machico and the municipality of Montejaque, municipalities in the process of twinning with Monchique, in an exchange of flavors, culture and entertainment, as they will be present with a showcase of traditional music and gastronomy.
In terms of the communication campaign, the local authority continues to invest in promotional videos, with a reach of 128,000 views, generating excellent dynamics with the public, exceeding the expectations created for the event's communication plan, and already becoming a brand image.
