Lamborghini ups the ante with the Fenomeno and a beefed-up V12

The new Lamborghini Fenomeno isn't just another supercar from the Italian brand, offered in a limited edition for greater exclusivity, produced in small quantities like models like the Sesto Elemento, Veneno, Centenario, and Sián. The Fenomeno, unveiled this weekend at The Quail in Carmel, California, raises Lamborghini's bar in terms of design, technology, and power .
The Quail, a Motorsport Gathering, has been bringing together a crowd of racing and collector car enthusiasts on the lawns of The Quail Lodge & Golf Club for 20 years. As part of Monterey Car Week, the invitation-only event at The Quail served this year as the public debut of the Fenomeno, Lamborghini's latest supercar, of which only 29 units will be produced .

Beyond its exclusivity, the Fenomeno has many aces up its sleeve, one of which is plain to see: its bold and aggressive design . Created by the Lamborghini Centro Stile in Sant'Agata Bolognese, which has been responsible for the signature lines of the manufacturer's models for 20 years, the Fenomeno stands as a design manifesto, where aesthetics and performance go hand in hand . The proof is in the aerodynamic appendages, designed to press the supercar to the ground, but which appear integrated into the model's shape, reinforcing its aggressiveness while still fulfilling its intended function.

While the aesthetics will captivate many of the 29 customers who will be able to purchase the Fenomeno, it will be the mechanics that will turn heads. In the center, just behind the two seats, sits the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 with an impressive rev range of 9,500 rpm, with peak power reaching 9,250 rpm. Compared to the Revuelto, from which the Fenomeno inherits much of its chassis and mechanics, Lamborghini managed to extract 835 hp from the V12 (up 10 hp), adding to the gains provided by the three electric motors (one connected to the crankshaft and the other two connected to each of the front wheels), powered by a small rechargeable battery now with a capacity of 7 kWh (instead of the previous 3.8 kWh, to provide a power boost for the electric motors), the heart of the plug-in hybrid system.

With a total power output of 1080 hp , 65 hp more than the Revuelto, the Fenomeno boasts a top speed of 350 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 2.4 seconds (2.5 seconds for the Revuelto), offering the best power-to-weight ratio in Lamborghini history , at 1.64 kg/hp. This is also aided by the use of lighter materials, from the brake discs to more carbon fiber in the bodywork.
