Body found in Tesla belonging to American singer D4vd

Los Angeles authorities found an advanced state of decomposition inside a Tesla registered to American singer D4vd on Monday, The Independent reported. The 20-year-old is willing to cooperate with police.

According to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, officers were alerted around 12:20 p.m. local time after neighbors at a Hollywood impound lot reported a strong odor coming from inside a Tesla. "We were notified this morning, and the vehicle had been here [at the lot] for a couple of days," Sergeant Robert Peters told the same newspaper.

According to information released by ABC7 , the car is a 2023 model, registered in Hempstead, Texas. A body was found in the trunk, wrapped in plastic and placed inside a bag. "Investigators found possible human remains and have opened an investigation ," confirmed the Los Angeles police spokesperson, adding that the victim's identity has not yet been released .

The incident coincided with D4vd's "Withered" world tour. The singer-songwriter's agent assured NBC that "D4vd has been informed of what happened and, although he is on tour , is fully cooperating with authorities ."

Known for his song "Romantic Homicide ," released in 2022 and going viral on TikTok, David Anthony Burke has become one of the emerging voices in North American music, accumulating over 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Last July, he was part of the lineup for one day of the Portuguese festival Super Bock Super Rock, held at Herdade do Cabeço da Flauta in Meco.

On social media, the young man continued promoting his new album without mentioning the incident. However, the incident has already had commercial repercussions. According to WWD , Crocs and Hollister announced this Tuesday that they were suspending advertising campaigns featuring the 20-year-old. "We are aware of this developing story. Regarding the current situation, we have removed the content from the D4vd campaigns while the investigation continues," the two companies said in a joint statement.

Authorities continue to gather evidence and are appealing for testimony from witnesses who can help clarify how the body ended up in D4vd's car.
