Bayern Munich defeats Stuttgart to lift the German Super Cup

Bayern Munich beat Stuttgart 2-1 today to lift the German Super Cup for the 11th time in their history, the first since 2022, in the goalscoring debut of Colombian ex-FC Porto player Luis Díaz.
The winger signed from Liverpool sealed the match in the 77th minute, following a pass from Gnabry, who left the match three minutes later due to physical problems and was replaced by the Portuguese Raphaël Guerreiro.
Earlier, Englishman Harry Kane had already opened the scoring, at 18, taking advantage of a mistake by Stuttgart's defense, who even played the Super Cup at home but were defeated for the second year in a row - in 2024, they lost to Bayer Leverkusen -, with Leweling's late goal, at 90+3, being of no use.
The German champions thus defeated the German Cup winners, lifting the trophy for the 11th time, the first since 2022, cementing their dominance in the competition's history, trailed by Borussia Dortmund's six.
This title also marks the first time the trophy has been awarded since it was renamed Franz Beckenbauer, in honor of the 'mythical' captain of Bayern and West Germany (FRG), who died in 2024.
