PKP has canceled a popular seaside connection. Passengers are advised to transfer.

There's no longer a direct train from Bielsko-Biała to Ustka. The popular connection was canceled by PKP (Polish State Railways) after many years. "The change in route is due to the creation of new routes on the Przemyśl – Słupsk/Ustka – Przemyśl and Bielsko-Biała Główna – Gdynia Główna – Bielsko-Biała Główna routes," the carrier explains, assuring passengers that passengers can still take advantage of the convenient connection with a transfer.
Bielsko-Biała without a train to UstkaThis year's seasonal PKP train timetable from Bielsko-Biała no longer includes a connection to Ustka. Residents who for years used direct connections now have to settle for a transfer. Although passengers can still take a direct train from Bielsko-Biała to Kołobrzeg, Świnoujście, or Hel, the lack of Ustka is a serious problem for them. "Two direct trains a day can run from small Przemyśl to Ustka, but from Bielsko, with a population of 160,000, they have to transfer," reads one comment on the website Bielsko.biala.pl.
PKP is explaining itselfThe carrier responded to passengers' dissatisfaction by not ruling out the possibility of the return of the connection to the popular seaside resort in the coming years. It also emphasized that Bielsko-Biała residents can now enjoy an increased number of connections to Wrocław. "In the summer timetable, the IC Szyndzielnia train, which connected Bielsko-Biała with Ustka, has been replaced by the IC Zefir train, which runs on the Ustka-Przemyśl-Ustka route via Katowice and Wrocław," we read. A PKP spokesperson said that transfers are an important element of any transportation system. Therefore, changing trains shouldn't cause any inconvenience.
During the holiday season, however, time to reach the seaside is a priority. Therefore, passengers may decide to choose another resort if the journey to their destination is shorter and less complicated.
