Jan Holoubek's next projects have been announced. Streaming giants are poised for hits.

In November, Jan Holoubek's latest series, about the Jan Heweliusz ferry disaster, will hit Netflix. His next production will also tell a true story, specifically one of Poland's most high-profile criminal cases. The series will be produced for HBO Max. Holoubek's next project will be the war drama "Wild Wild East," starring Robert Więckiewicz.

TVN Warner Bros. Discovery has announced its continued collaboration with Jan Holoubek , who has already directed two feature hits for the company: "25 Years of Innocence: The Case of Tomek Komenda" and "Doppelganger: The Double." This time, Holoubek will direct a series based on a true story, on which production has already begun. He will also direct another feature film.

Little is known about the series, other than that it will focus on one of the most notorious criminal cases in Polish history. The film will be titled "Wild Wild East" and will star Itay Tiran, Robert Więckiewicz, Piotr Trojan, Jan Bulow, and Jacek Beller, among others. The production will transport viewers to Poland in 1943, a time of daily tragedy for Jews.

"Jan Holoubek is undoubtedly one of the most talented Polish filmmakers of recent years. He has a talent like few others for bringing true stories to the screen and taking viewers on a sentimental visual journey, simultaneously creating a dense, suffocating atmosphere and superb drama. I'm incredibly excited about our collaboration," Bogumił Lipski, Drama & Film Unit Director at TVN Warner Bros. Discovery, said in a statement.

And in November, Holoubek's series, "Heweliusz," will be available to watch. Its plot is based on the events of the night of January 13-14, 1993, when the ferry Jan Heweliusz sank during a storm in the Baltic Sea. Thirty-six passengers and 20 crew members perished in the disaster, while nine were rescued. This project is both a courtroom drama and a catastrophic event.
