Andrzej Seweryn joins the new film adaptation of "The Doll." He will play one of the key roles.

Andrzej Seweryn will star in the feature film adaptation of "The Doll," which begins filming on July 22nd. He will play the father of the main character, Izabela Łęcka, Count Tomasz Łęcki. In this Gigant Films production, Seweryn will star alongside Marcin Dorociński, Kamila Urzędowska, Marek Kondrat, and Agata Kulesza.
" Tomasz Łęcki is a charming figure, tragic, and funny all at once. He maintains his composure and holds his head high, even though the ground is shifting beneath his feet. The world of his youth is fading into the past, and he is unable to adapt to the rapidly changing times. This feeling resonates with many of us today. Bolesław Prus's prose remains incredibly relevant," says Andrzej Seweryn in a post published on the film "The Doll"'s Instagram profile.
Count Łęcki is a bankrupt who lives beyond his means.
Andrzej Seweryn is one of the most distinguished figures in Polish cinema and theater. For years, he has been the director, actor, and director of the Polish Theater in Warsaw . He has appeared in films such as "The Promised Land," "Pan Tadeusz," "Man of Iron," and "The Last Family." On the small screen, he has appeared in films such as "Rojście."
The film adaptation of "The Doll," starring him, will be directed by Maciej Kawalski ("Dangerous Gentlemen"), with cinematography by Piotr Sobociński Jr. ("Corpus Christi," "The Wedding," "Wołyń"). Gigant Films is the producer.
Seweryn will partner with Marcin Dorociński (Stanisław Wokulski), Kamila Urzędowska (Izabela Łęcka), Marek Kondrat (Ignacy Rzecki) and Agata Kulesza (Mrs. Meliton).
Not one, but two adaptations of "The Doll" are currently in development, as Netflix is also producing a production based on Prus's novel. Filming for the series, directed by Paweł Maślona, began on July 1st.
